Walking in Chianti – Walk around Chianti hills

In Tuscany every year marathon in the big city as Siena and Florence and also in the Chianti zone are organized, our hotel is located in a good position to train yourself running through the small streets looking the landscape and also to take part to these events.

In 2010 an interesting manifestation started: L’Eroica Running, this marathon is organized in the first week-end of November with 3 different routes and with different difficulty levels (6km, 15km, 38km). The start is in Gaiole in Chianti with different itineraries through the famous cycling routes of Eroica, that takes place on the first week-end of October. The first prize is a bottle of Chianti wine! The day can continue with the visit to the "Truffle festival", near Gaiole in Chianti.

Walking is the principal sport that unifies man with nature: walking through small path and forest offers a very unique scenery of our landscape. Palazzo San Niccolò provides to the guests maps with trekking routes and nordic walking or can organize walking with private and professional guide, who will show them the beauty of this corner of nature in Tuscany, introducing also the flora and fauna of this area. Not to be missed are the Mangialonghe organized in the villages of Chianti Classico. Walking through an itinerary that is characterized from different point where you can have very beautiful view of landscape, participants can taste our food in the many refreshment points.

During the San Lorenzo night, the 10th of August, the night of shooting stars, are organized many walking night to see the stars. In Radda in Chianti every year a walking through the most beautiful street around the historical centre is organized, a walking that finishes with a buffet dinner under the stars by the Caffè San Niccolò.
