Siena and San Gimignano tour from Palazzo San Niccolò

Palazzo San Niccolò can organize a guided tour with private driver in the principal cities of art of Tuscany and the most famous in our area are Siena and San Gimignano: the tour starts in the morning discovering the beautiful town of Siena, between the ancient walls and the particular Piazza Del Campo, protagonist of the famous horse racing held twice a year: Il Palio.

The Palio is the oldest medieval competition and is attended by a large crowds. The race is preceded by the Historical walking. The Palazzo Pubblico with its Torre Del Mangia is the main palace that you can see on the square and is also possible to visit the tower and the campanile. Siena is particular for its small street all set up and down which gave to this town a very magical atmosphere. We can feel the life of Contrade in all of the parts and during the summer time in all of the streets you can find festival of those clubs. All palaces have kept the original beauty; the Duomo, with its particularly structure is made in black and white marble referring to the Balzana that is the araldic arm of Siena.

Going on along the way to go to San Gimignano we can stop in Monteriggioni, very beautiful small village located up the hill inside ancient walls that maintain the original form. Inside of those walls we can find bars, a very good restaurants and mostly the beautiful landscapes that oversee the countryside. Monteriggioni is also mentioned by Dante Alighieri in the famous Divina Commedia.

During the afternoon our guests reach the town of Colle Val D’Elsa, also located up to a hill and called the Crystal city where we can find the famous glass factory of the City, and the town of San Gimignano that is located in a hill of Val d’Elsa and it is majestic with its towers, in total 16, which gave to the city the name of Manhattan of Medieval time. San Gimignano is also characteristic for the famous Vernaccia wine. The return from the tour is in the afternoon.
