Your have to start your visit from the Piazza del Duomo, called Piazza dei Miracoli that is a Unesco World heritage site. The Duomo was built on the XII century, and set the model from the distinctive Pisa Romanesque style of architecture and is all built in marble. The Leaning Tower,that is also the campanile, is of XII century, that its height is 56 m, performed the lean after ten years after construction begun. But this is not the only one leaning tower, infact not many people know that there are others two leaning tower: one is the tower bell of the Church of San Nicola, located near the Lungarno and the second one is the tower bell of the Church of San Michele degli Scalzi (in this case is also the church leaning).
In Piazza del Duomo it’s possible to see the Battistero: dedicated to St. John the Baptist, stands on the west site of Duomo and it is the bigger Italian Baptister. The Campo Santo cemetery is located at north site of the square and it has been built as a cloister and around a shipload of sacred soil from Monte Golgota in Terrasanta, brought back to Pisa from the Fourth Crusade.
The tour following in the historical centre with the typical tower houses of Pisa arriving in Piazza dei Cavalieri where there is the Palazzo della Carovana designed by Giorgio Vasari, which actually has the Scuola Normale Superiore. On the same square is located the Chiesa dei Cavalieri di Santo Stefano. The tour finishes in Borgo Stretto, an area where you can walk inside a medieval path. Along the street, that with the Corso Italia compose the "living room" of the city, is located the Romanesque-Gothic church of San Michele in Borgo.
