Tour of Chianti Sculpture Park, Pievasciata, Certosa di Pontignano and Castelnuovo Berardenga from Palazzo San Niccolò

Palazzo San Niccolò suggests a tour for all people who love the art to Chianti Sculpture Park: is a permanent exhibition of installation and modern sculpture located in a magic wood area. Inside of the Park is created an sculpture-Amphiteatre that offers to visitors a very big program of concerts and cultural events. The Park is located not so far from Certosa di Pontignano, where you can find since many years the College of art history of the University of Siena.

All the Sculptures are created with special materials that artists choose with care to ensure that every sculpture is based with the land. Following a path through the forest we can find glass, marble, bronze, aluminum, travertine and the famous Carrara Marble sculptures.

Nearby the Park we can find the small village of Pievasciata, with the very interesting Pieve; La Certosa di Pontignano, beautiful Certosa built with the traditional form of Certhusian monasteries divided in three parts, we can find inside a beautiful courtyard with gardens. Following our tour, we can reach Castelnuovo Berardenga, that is considered a Siena’s suburb, surrounded by beautiful landscape of Chianti Region. Guest could have the possibility to visit the wineries of the area and at the end of the month of September there is the Grapes festival in the village of Vagliagli, that is a small town of Castelnuovo Berardenga.
